Hi ladies,
SO today I went shopping for a wedding dress. I somehow managed to have two walk in appointments (Davids bridal and Macy’s salon). I tried on ten dresses and db, including an Oleg cassini I had been eyeing for months now. I wasn’t too fond of much at db, so I hopped on over to Macy’s and go figure, I ens up liking every dress I try on. I especially loved two dresses and was given a “sales” price if I decide on purchasing tomorrow. I was leaning towards the strapless satin (I had no idea I even liked satin up until today) and was given a price of $1800 for veil and dress. My parents have insisted on purchasing my dress, but I honestly feel it is more that I’m comfortable with spending. One day, one dress…at least 2 g’s. No. In any case, I need opinions to keep me from doubling back on my stance. It is after all, the first day of looking…and though I absolutely love the dress, I can always go back to it…right?
Here are the pics. I love both, but l was going to purchase the strapless. I am rarher short and petite, so the dresses are clearly not in my size. Also, the lighting was awful, thepictures don’t really do the dresses justice but it is what it is, I’ve got my sister to blame for the lousy photog job 😉

They both look absolutely stunning on you!! Holy cow, what an enviable figure you’ve got, girl!!
I love, love the detailed bodice of the strapless, but then I saw that second dress and thought, ‘Wow!!’ You look very Grace Kelly-chic in that one.

I like the 2nd dress. The 1st dress is gorgeous but the bling isn’t my taste. I love love love bling, I just don’t like it looking like flowers & stars. I think the high neck elongates your petite frame. I also have always loved the simple satin mermaid dresses. The high neck is so classy & elegant.
That being said, I think you really should shop around more before you purchase any dress. I can’t stress enough to you how important it is to see & try on different dresses AND sleep on the ones you like the best before you commit.

Without a doubt number 1 but I’m not a fan of satin. It does look amazing on you though, you have a gorgeous figure!!

You’ve answered your own question silly! All throughout your post you talk about the strapless one and don’t even mention the other dress – that says more than enough about the fact that you love it.
How about you offer to split the cost with your parents, would that make it more comfortable? Honestly, after going through dress regret myself because I didn’t buy the dress I fell in love it, I say get the one you want – you don’t want to end up with 2 dresses because you went back to buy it anyway!
Besides, the strapless dress is simply stunning on you! It will look even better when it’s in your size 🙂

You looklike you were born to wear that strapless dress and I say that as someone who isn’t all that fond of strapless dresses but you look utterly perfect in that dress

Thanks gals for the kind words….I’m really at a loss. I am going back today for a second try, I’m bringing my future mother in law to get a second opinion. I am still torn about which dress, more so, if I should commit today. I didn’t take too many pictures of the second dress, I wish I had. I’m not a fan of how satin shows on photographs, but I loved the material. I’m not much into being either, but the pattern on the strapless is beautiful…I don’t think the pictures do it justice…and the great thing about it is I wouldn’t have to accessorize much. Less is more, in my opinion. The highbneckline is fab, I feel so elegant in it…but I know my fiance would probably gravitate towards the strapless so for that alone, I feel its the dress. I’m not too sure if it’s too much of a good thing at this point, I feel like I should shop around…but then again, I do love how this dress looked on me. And the cost isn’t an issue to my parents, its just an issue to me. I feel awful that they drop so much money on something I wear once…but I’m thinking thats probably the norm price wise, for a wedding dress. Ugh, decisions…decisions..sorry for for the rant ladies but I do appreciate all the kind opinions.

firstly amazing figure. They both look stunning. I am looking into wedding dresses. When You think of your venue, which dress do You think of first?
what does The back of The second dress look like?
Do You now envisage a style for your wedding? after trying The dresses?
again though both suit your figure and look wow.
🙂 xx
