- Wedding: April 2011
I did the ‘no no’ of ordering a dress online….just a few months after I was engaged…(which will be a year next week since being engaged) for various reasons and my own apparent stupidity, waited to really and truly try on the dress until…..this past weekend! My wedding is in less than 6 months…
The dress I bought doesn’t fit….and so Saturday and Sunday I went dress shopping for the first time…
As I am feeling SO overwhelmed w. the need to find a dress a.s.a.p. so that I can get it ordered, altered, etc. in time for the wedding….I feel the pressure (which I know I put upon myself…but still…)
So…I thought my dress was going to be the Oleg Cassini dress from David’s Bridal (CWG324 style), but for one the price was WAY over what I need to pay, even if DB is having a sale…
then I was battling between that one and the satin peekaboo dress (style WG9828) (Miss Cardy’s dress! 🙂 )…and was having a VERY VERY hard time deciding…
and after a pretty much sleepless night on Sunday…I ruled out the Oleg Cassini and was leaning a lot toward the satin one. I love how comfortable it is, etc.
Though as much as I like it and have done my best in the last 24 hrs. to convince myself it’s a great pick…AND though I have an appt. to go back to DB tonight, I still browsed more online at DB…
and wait for it….
found ANOTHER one I have to try! haha.
Now mind you, in the 2 days I tried on dresses, I feel like I tried on 20 or so and it was tiring. haha.
Though I reallly, really love the back of it and have decided I’ll try it first when I get to my appt. and see what happens…and the dress is the same as Miss Plaid’s pick!!!
I feel like it’s one that I have to try…I’m about 5’5″ and seem to fit decent enough in the 8 or 10 sample sizes at the stores… I have more weight in my lower half..so that’s one thing I’m a bit worried about…
but there’s just something about it that makes me feel like I have to try it!
Now..if it really doesn’t lay right on my body (regardless of me trying to workout and loss weight, etc. before the wedding) then I think I’ll go for the satin one. 🙂
They are definitely different ‘looks’ and styles and materials – but they are ones that I feel I can make work…at least I hope…
The lace one (even though I haven’t tried it on) makes me feel like it can defnitely be sexy, which I love…and will probably look better at my Spring time wedding…
however, if I get the satin one (though it doesn’t work as well for the Spring), it still has major ‘sexy’ feel of the satin material and the fit….
So…I think…haha…I’ll either end up a twin to Miss Cardy or Miss Plaid…we’ll see.
My appt. is tonight and I CAN’T wait!
Any opinions for me? 🙂
Oh I forgot..I do have a few pics. of me in the satin one…though I don’t think the pics. do me or the dress justice here..it is at least a start…thanks!
