I am having my first bridal shower in Nebraska next weekend. It is a joint shower with my cousin who is getting married a few months before me in Iowa. I have no idea what to wear to the shower. My wedding color is orange, and it is an aspen tree themed wedding. So I thought I should wear orange. I am completely lost other than that. I don’t know if I should be wearing a dress or more casual. What did you wear/are planning on wearing to your shower? My cousin will be dressed to the T as she always is. So I am just trying to look like I am also a bride, not a homeless person who wandered into the shower. It is in a hotel if that helps. Here are two options I am considering.

I would definitely go with a dress but the one you have posted is too casual in my opinion. You’re the bride so you should look extra special.

@Meowkers: That is my main issue. I don’t want to look over or under dressed. I am guessing it is going to be pretty casual, but is the bride supposed to look good? And I don’t want to dress up more than my cousin. But she is so pretty and fashionable I am sure she will look perfect no matter what she is wearing.

Of course the bride is supposed to look good. It’s ok for the bride to be more dressed up than the rest of the guests. I think a nice sun dress is perfect. Not a simple cotton one but one you would wear to brunch at a nice restaurant or Sunday tea with your grandma.

I found a lot of cute dressses online at kohls I got a peach sundress and a yellow sundress for my wedding, both are fancier. You definately want to look nice, not causal though.

@Meowkers: Well holy cow! These all are much better than what I was thinking of! I especially appreciate the pictures because I am extremely visual. I honestly like very single one of the ones you just posted. Thank you very much! Now I have a clear vision in my head and will not be so lost when I go shopping. I always have to have a goal in mind when entering a store or I have a bit of a panic attack. Shopping is probably my least favorite thing to do, but this will help to make it much more enjoyable. Thanks again!

@Mimoza: I think I need to read that whole book, because I have been told on numerous occasions that I am not fashionable. I am very self conscious when it comes to clothing. I feel like my personality is already loud and in people’s faces, so I need to tone it down when it comes to my clothes.
@TwoStatesBride: I LOVE the back of that dress, and the texture!
@FreckledFox: Thanks!

I truely believe that you can never be over dressed (unless you wear a prom dress to the park). I like the orange pants maybe with a neutral top, cute shoes, and blazer to look polished and of course ACCESSORIZE!
