I just sent in our choices today!
The “Together for Life” book did not have the Old Testament reading I wanted. I stood in a wedding once that used a reading from the book of Ruth that I LOVED. It just spoke to me so much. Basically Ruth’s husband, her brother-in-law, and her father in law have all died, and her mother in law, Naomi, is telling her that despite her being a good daughter-in-law, it’s time for her to go home to where she came from to find a new husband. But Ruth loves her mother-in-law so much that she says: “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.”
I just love that 🙂
The NT reading will either be Romans 12:1-2; 9-18 or Colossians 3:12-17. I haven’t decided yet. Who else is doing something other than 1 Corinthians 12:31… ? I would LOVE to hear some fresh NT choices.
Thanks!
