I would do the birthstones of your children. What do the colors here represent?

I would lean toward doing their birthstones, personally.

ETA: I chose the purple and blue in the poll, because if my mom had a ring and told me “the pink is for you!” when I was like four, I would have thrown a “but I don’t even like pink, it’s too girly!!” tantrum. Haha so I’m coming from the point of view that stereotypical colors are not always super appreciated by kids. Personal experience. 🙂

Sorry, I’m a little confused.  Are you two kids’ birthstone colors the pink and blue, or the purple and blue?

I’ve never been into birthstones, but I agree with PPs that that’s usually what people go with for these kinds of rings. For me, LO picking out the ring himself or it at least reminding me of his personality in some way (like blue since I call him my little bluebird or rainbow because he loves rainbows, etc.) would be more meaningful than just the month he was born in, though.

I love the pink and blue! The purple is pretty but the pink is so bright and happy.

Confused too… is pink or purple supposed to be a girl and the blue a boy?  I’m with PP that usually rings for kids would be something like birthstone rings?    My kids are Sept and April babies so I’m getting  sapphire and diamond eternity ring.  It wont be an obvious birthstone ring, but it’ll have meanting to me.

ETA: just saw your response.   I guess if it’s just a random color that has meaning to you, I like the purple one more.

How old are your children? Will blue and pink/purple still represent their personalities a decade from now? It seems rather old fashioned to assign blue to your son and pink to your daughter, but obviously it’s up to you.

I get not loving birthstones. I wanted to get something to represent my husband, myself, and our newborn, but our colors are red, white, and blue and I’d rather not have it misconstrued with being overly patriotic, so I just went with garnet for my daughter.

Aesthetically, I think the purple looks better. Is your daughter old enough to ask her which color she likes?
