If they are diamonds (hard to tell, and will never assume) I would ALWAYS choose 6 prongs for security.

6 prongs. I think it looks better, and with 4 prongs I would worry about security – if one prong was damaged the entire stone might fall out.

I personally prefer a 6 prong setting on a round cut. I think that a 4 prong setting makes it look to square
