Go for a cushion solitaire then. I have an old cut cushion so chunky facets. If you like round but like the pillowy cushion facets then old mine cut might be for you too. My ring size is 4.75. Centre diamond 2.4 cts

You can always get a cushion solitaire.  Just beware they they usually face up smaller than a round diamond.

It would help if you had pictures to compare but I would go with a round solitaire, although I may be a bit biased…

I’m assuming you mean you love the simplicity of a round solitaire? Because “solitaire” means it’s the only stone – it doesn’t mean specifically round. Therefore, if you love solitaires and cushion-cut, get a cushion-cut solitaire. Problem solved…
