Hi everyone….full disclosure… I’ve been married for 15 years 😂😳. But, I never had a formal engagement ring. For Christmas/anniversary, hubby is getting me my ring (2 kids later 😆). Anyway, I’m torn between which I like best and would love your objective opinions. Figured this would be the best place to ask. Anyway, we’ve narrowed it down to 2 and I would truly appreciate any input 😊
Emerald halo vs round/cushion halo (real picture of emerald on my finger…representation of the cushion but almost identical – just thinner band)
thx in advance!!!

I love the emerald on you! It elongates your finger.

Ahhh…wish it was more definitive 😂😂. I’m so torn (but a good torn 😉)

this might not be the typical opinion but while I love step cuts (my ering is emerald cut) I don’t think they always suit a halo as easily as other sparklier cuts because their emphasis is the perfect clear geometric symmetry and it can appear a little lost or “dead” inside a sparklysparkly halo, whereas a halo on a firey cushion cut would look great! I do love the cushion cut without a halo as well but my vote would go for having it with a pave band.

I love love love step cut stones but I don’t like them with Halos, so I think I like the cushion cut for your finger with the halo better.

Unlike some Bees, I actually love the contrast of a step cut with a sparkly halo. When I was engaged previously, I had an asscher in a micro pave halo. This time I have a round in a round halo, picked out by my Fiance. While I love it, I think sometimes the center gets lost with the halo. I love the emerald on you so that would be my biased choice.

so cute! My dad did a similar thing – married my mum with no engagement ring and bought her one for her 50th birthday.
I love the emerald cut on your hand. It has good finger coverage.

I’m partial to emeralds because that’s what I have, but I also think this one just looks fab on you!

I’m a pretty gung-ho emerald cut advocate. However, its getting swallowed by that halo and kind of kills the beautiful mirror-effect quality that EC’s have. Full disclosure: I don’t like halos, so I may be biased. If you insist on a halo, I’d go with the cushion. That being said, its most important to go with what your heart is telling you. Either ring will be a fine choice!
