I had a solitaire….and thought it was “boring” and then bought a halo setting today.
now i feel like it looks “cocktail” ring-ey and doesnt pop as ” engaged”… i think it looks vintagey and i am more modern????
can you give me your thoughts?
i can easily put the diamond back in the solitaire setting…
or keep the halo.
(its a real 1.75 center stone)

It is a stunning ring either way…but yes I can see what you mean. It does look more of a dress ring, BUT it might look toatlly different when you match it with a wedding band 🙂

I really love both styles of rings so it’s a toUghy. However, in this cases think the solitaire stood out more and really shined. I personally prefer the solitaire above.

I like the simple elegance of the solitaire.

I, for one, love solitaires. I think the halo makes your diamond look like an entirely different color. It looks better on it’s own.

I think it looks better on its own.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you said it seems cocktail-ish in comparison!
But they are both stunning!

I even think it looks bigger without the halo! The diamond looks gorgeous on its own!

Don’t like the halo ring. It does look like a cocktail RHR rather than a forever ring. I love how the solitaire looks. Pair the solitaire with a blingy band and it will look amazing!

I like the solitaire most.

I normally like halos, but in this case I’d stick with solitaire. The halo is too busy with the clean lines of the center stone.

I prefer solitares. But since you said you found them boring, maybe give the halo a few days? It could grow on you.
