I opened a similar thread on other rings I tried them in person didn’t like them.. these two I did and I like. But I don’t know what to choose… I love rubies and usually hate diamonds when alone. But this other ring has such a unique shape I liked it. Which is prettier ? More timeless or unique ? Thanks

For me it would depend on what the purpose of the ring is, cause I could go either way depending on that detail

I’m not sure if either of them are timeless.
If it’s for your engagement ring, I guess the emerald cut? Honestly not a fan of either.

It’s a wedding ring and it’ll be the only ring on my hand no extra band or anything. jaydeeplatinum :

I really like both rings I think they are unique and beautiful. I love the rubies, but I think the diamond ring looks more like an engagement ring. Unique, but still bridal.
Was one ring more comfortable than the other? I would also like to point out that you may have trouble finding a wedding band if you plan on wearing both the Engagement Ring and a wedding band at the same time. The diamond ring would have to have a wedding band on the outside if you wanted the ring to sit the way it is in the picture. Not a big deal though!
Overall I would choose the emerald cut diamond and save the ruby ring for an anniversary ring or RHR down the road.
Edit: I see that you would not wear another band with this ring so those points don’t matter

I am not sure that’s why I need opinions but I am slightly leaning to the ruby one because I feel it’s a more conservative cut ring and I do love rubies. But I just would love to see people’s votes

They’re both unique; I wouldn’t call either of them timeless. Personally I would prefer the emerald diamond as a wedding ring, but I prefer clear stones to colored stones.

Ruby was more comfortable the emerald dut diamond one has the diamonds paved all around. So it’s even harder to resize. And for me I don’t mind if it suits the part or not as the finger it’s on says a lot. But i do want the most beautiful one as a wedding ring. allpinkeverything :

If I had to pick, I’d got ruby and diamonds. I’m not sure how I feel about the very traditional looking emerald cut ring with the juxtaposition of the very nontraditional marquise just off one corner. I prefer a more symmetrical look.

If I had to choose, I’d pick the ruby one. However, the diamond pear bugs me. It would look better with another diamond marquis. Even if the diamond pear was facing the other way would be better.

Very cool! I voted for the ruby cause you love them, and I feel like you would be happier in the end with that one! I feel if you didn’t get the ruby you would regret not having one, Rubies will always be timeless!

Neither are timeless IMO.
Honestly they both look insanely annoying to wear as an everyday ring. I can’t imagine how much stuff that is going to get caught on.

That’s why I removed the word timeless off the description because non of them are rlly timeless I just like them Westwood :

If you don’t like diamonds on their own, avoid diamonds on their own.
I don’t know why any jeweler would make a ring pave all around. How are you supposed to resize it!
I personally don’t like emerald cuts so I may be biased, but the second one looks like an emerald cut with some marquis tacked on as an afterthought.
I like the look of the first ruby ring much better. It’s unique, the color pattern draws your eye all around the stones, and it’s whimsical.
Go for what you love, but here’s my vote since you wanted it.

The ruby one reminds me of period blood. That was my immediate thought though I don’t know why.
