Hello bees! My boyfriend and I have been together for over 3 ½ years, and recently started talking about marriage this year. He will be graduating from the university next year, and I have a stable job, so we both feel that it is a good time to settle down. Also, we are not getting any younger hehe! We both wanted to be happy with our rings, so this Monday, went to Kays Jewelers to look around. I was undecided between a Neil Lane ring and a Tolkowsky ring. The Neil Lane was beautiful and seemed vintage yet modern. The Tolkowsky was more simple yet classy. He ended up leaving a deposit for the Neil Lane ring, because while in the store, I expressed liking it better. We are supposed to return on the 22nd (so we can get the sale price) and finish the process. However, I am not sure if I made the right choice! Perhaps because the Neil Lane is so much more expensive than the other, and I feel a little guilty. After all, he is only working part-time now. The Neil Lane set is about $4199.00 and the Tolkowsky is a about $2399.00. Please share your thoughts, and vote for the prettiest ring below. Thank you!

Both are beautiful rings. I like the uniqeness of the neil lane but ultimately i would choose the tolkowsky because it’s simple and timeless-just my opinion. Either one you choose will look great. 🙂

They are so different but both are nice! It’s also hard to tell without seeing them on you and knowing your personal style.
The Neil Lane will definitely look bigger on your finger because it’s a halo. But personally I would like the other one, because I prefer a simpler look. And I also prefer the price point of the second one.

They are both gorgeous, but I second the Tolikowsky. It’s very classy and timeless, and the band also would be something you could wear solo, if you ever wanted to go without your engagement ring. The band for the Neil Lane one looks like it is curved and I’m not in love with that.

I’m a sucker for halo rings! I’d have to go with Niel Lane. I’m not a big fan of the curved bands though…

OMG that Neil Lane is TO DIE FOR.
You are going to be wearing it for the rest of your life so dont feel guilty!
I think the Tolikowsky is really boring, if you showed it to me I would say “oh thats nice” and forget about it in 10 seconds, if you showed me the Neil Lane I would be gushing about it to my friends and Fiance later.

I’m going against the grain here and saying the Tolkowsy. I think it is stunning and just lovely in it’s simplicity. I also know the Tolkowsky rings are only made with gorgeous diamonds and they sparkle like crazy!!
My best friend actually has the EXACT same Neil Lane ring as above and she has only has since July and has had to take it back in 3 different times already because the stones keep falling out. twice on the band and once on the halo.
If you actually go to Kays.com and read the reviews on it, they all say the same thing. it’s a big pain in the butt to always take it in.
Regardless, they are both gorgeous! Good luck!

They’re both gorgeous. I’m not a huge halo person, but wow, the Neil Lane is stunning.

I like the bottom one best. Its very beautiful, classic & timeless. Don’t get me wrong, the halo is beautful as well. BUT if it was ME picking I would go for the bottom set. Go for whatever your heart desires though, as long as he can pay for it without going into debt or whichever would cause less debt.

I like the second one, maily because I am not a big fan of halo’s. But what is important is that you feel comfortable and feel like you’re getting a ring that is YOU all the way.
Price aside, which one would you choose? If you can afford both, get the one you want the most, even if it’s the most expensive one. When it comes down to it, you won’t remember the ring for what you paid for it.

Seems as though the halo diamonds on the first ring are a little too big, overpowering the center stone a bit. I actually do preffer the first one over the second, but the balance is just a little off, IMO

Not a halo person, I definitely would pick the bottom ring

I’m just such a sucker for a halo…so I picked the first one!

I love the Neil Lane e-ring, not so much a fan of curved bands (for wearing on their own from time to time). If it is in your price range and the one that you love, I say go for it! Otherwise, in a few years, you may be wishing you had. You could also let him surprise you between the two and that way, you don’t feel guilt about $$$ because he made the choice to spend it?

i like the 2nd one better because the side diamonds stand out more and the setting doesn’t take away from the main stone. keep us posted in what you end up getting!
