Summer is way too hot for my taste and I had no other reason to pick it.  So I would have picked spring (April) or fall (September or October) all other things being equal.  Our wedding date was our first date…so it worked out.

April because there was a special deal at our venue for it!  I also don’t care if it rains.. makes for some great pics

Our two favorite seasons are summer & fall, and we loved the idea of a fall wedding. We chose to have our wedding at the same place my parents had their reception, overlooking a river. It’s always so beautiful there in the fall, and there’s also no boats out on the water since it’s just become a bit too chilly for that. Plus, we didn’t want a long engagement, so we had 7 months to September, which was plenty of time to plan. We didn’t want to have to wait until the next summer, so we chose fall 🙂

Winter. It was the only time other than summer that all family members could make it (and we cared more about our family being present than anything else), and I despise the summer (I had no interest in being a sweaty bride, which I inevitably would be in anything over 70 degrees, lol).

Summer. Because its beautful in Wa, and ‘usually’ doesn’t rain. Our summer highs usually top out at 80’s.

We chose summer because it’s beautiful here in the summer 🙂 I love the month of June because it’s the first month that is sunny and beautiful after a long drawn out winter.

I originally wanted october but my venue was booked every saturday between august 31st and November 19th. Since we have people traveling from Canada we actually like the labor day weekend date better. November would risk snow already in many area. So summer it is for us!

We live in Florida.  For half of the year it is ridiculously hot outside and we wanted an outdoor wedding so that eliminated late Spring through early Autumn pretty quickly.  Then we knew we had guests flying in from the UK so we tried to pick months when it would be cheaper for them to fly in but still have nice weather.  We narrowed it down to late October through late February with the holidays of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s cut out (holiday weddings get expensive fast.)

We then searched for our preferred venue; a beachhouse that allowed weddings and found one available for the last week in October/first week in November 2013 so that is how we picked our venue and date.

This might sound silly, but because DH proposed on a 21st, i wanted the wedding to also be on a 21st, so the only 21st that worked and was on a Saturday was April 21st, 6 months from the date he proposed and we were so lucky that the weather so FAB!

We chose winter.  We got engaged Christmas Eve 2011.  I had never wanted a spring wedding.  I don’t know why just never did.  And all the females on my Mom’s side of the family were married in April and I wanted something different.  I always thought I would have a fall wedding.  I love the weather here in the fall.  However, with the timing of our engagement and wanting to get married in the catholic church that meant fall 2012 was out.  Not enough time.  Plus it has become a very popular time to get married in my area and things book up well over a year in advance.  So that meant fall 2014 and about 21-23 month engagement.  No thank you we are in our 30s.  That left winter.  The more I thought about it the more it grew on me.  I could do a winter themed wedding, lots of white, and silver and little lights.  I love that I am not competing with a ton of other brides for vendors.  I have received discounts because it is the off season.  It makes hotel rooms for people easier (I live in a seasonal resort town).  The month my brother got married had 5 weekends in it.  They had weddings 4 of those weekends.  That seemed insane to me.  So I just went with winter.  I haven’t regretted it once.  Now ask me that in a few weeks after I see how the weather turned out.  Haha.

Winter, only because of the the anniversary of our first date. Well, our first date was actually a leap day and there won’t be another for a while (Plus the next one falls mid-week) But every year we have been celebrating the anniversary of our first date on the 28th if there isn’t a 29th that year. So 2014 when the 28th falls on a friday seemed like a pretty good time. We’ve gotten to used to celebrating our anniversary to change it, even though getting married outside would have been really nice.

We had a spring wedding, I love the weather in spring, it’s not too hot and not too cold and I love the flowers and green grass (a hot commodity here in Texas where everything goes brown rather quickly!).

We chose April because it’s just the time when everything is starting to turn green again, but still not considered “wedding season”. Our photos will be beautiful, it won’t be exceptionally hot, and out prices are a bit lower =]
