I voted vintage because I feel the modern halo feels overshadowed by that giant center stone.

I instantly knew these were both david klass rings haha! I loved both of these rings when I saw them on Instagram and got to see that modern one before it went to its owner so I will include a pic. I love vintage settings but I will say I prefer the modern very slightly because of the very understated halo which lets the center stone shine and the claw prongs. Maybe you can have both vintage and modern by incorporating the split band into the modern setting instead of having a smooth band.

DanaNa :  Modern if colored gemstone, vintage if colorless .  Both will prevent a flush fitting wedding band due to the shape of the gallery…You’ll have a significant gap if that will bother you. Both could be tweaked to minimize that..

I like the modern more, personally although I appreciate the beauty in both. But. In terms of YOUR style. What do you typically gravitate towards? I dont just mean these rings, I mean in general. Do you generally prefer the modern or the vintage? For example, I just reset my ring and am traditionally a platinum and white metals type of girl. I absolutely LOVE rose gold. I reset in platinum. I’d go with what fall within your typical taste, even if you happen to like the other style ring. Perhaps you can find a way to mix styles. The modern e-ring and chose a complimentary band with a vintage feel, or vice versa.
