I would do the bezel with the plain band.  The bezel is such a nice clean look that side stones with it doesnt look “right” to me… the very clean look paired with a detailed look clashes together for me.

I’m with PinkShoes. The plain band would be amazing!

I like the first setting better, but to me the bezel looks kind of thick. I think something more refined and delicate would look better with your stone. Example below.

ETA: The example below was made by hand by a good bench jeweler. I think it would definitely be worth finding one local to you rather than popping the stone into a stock setting.E

@katebluestone:  I totally agree. That is super pretty and would look wonderful with OP’s stone!

@nous2:  right? 90% of the world’s supply are mined from the Argyle diamond mine in the Kimberley region which is in Western Australia.

They are actually going up in price because those mines are closing, so they’re a solid investment, but with something like an engagement ring, you’d never sell it, so it wouldn’t really be sensible to buy it purely on that basis! If we could have afforded one I would have loved one, they are such incredibly beautiful stones. I do prefer the colour of my peach sapphire but it just does not have the sparkle of a diamond, no getting around it.

@nous2:  the blue sapphire looks a lot bigger to me but I think it might still be worth taking it to your jeweller to ask and get actual measurements. Maybe you might get lucky and it fits in there. I have astigmatism so my depth perception could totally be off lmao.
