We’re having a small wedding here at home with just family then afterwards we’re having an open house reception here at home. I am wearing a gold stretch satin cocktail dress for the ceremony. I have a beautiful pair of ivory satin peep toe sling back pumps that I bought to wear with another dress (that doesn’t really fit so well) and I’m thinking ivory and gold go well together. But I’m concerned the shoes are too “bridal” when the dress obviously is not. What do you think I should do about shoes?

Although the shoes may be bridal which you may not want, ivory and gold do go together so you could wear them.

Thanks for your opinion. I thought the two colors looked good together as well. I’m having trouble uploading my pics. If I ever get them uploaded I’ll add the pics. (Should have thought to do that in the first place!) Thanks!

I’d go with something like one of these:

These are on http://www.endless.com and are by Paco Mena.
Here are a few more by Paco Mena, Menbur and Avance, but the ones above are my favorite with that dress!

The color of those shoes looks like they would be a perfect match. I like the slingback peeptoes but I don’t want the platforms. My FH isn’t that much taller than me. I’m probably already pushing it with the heels on the shoes I have. I wonder if they would actually match though. My concern with trying to get a perfect match is that they won’t really be a perfect match so maybe I should go with a different color intentionally.
I put the dress on with the ivory shoes, the pearl earrings I intend to wear and held the ivory tulip bouquet I intend to carry and it seemed to all come together.
