# 2 Hands down its soo beautiful!
# 2 Hands down its soo beautiful!
Love the new photos – thanks for adding. So outdoors in Carmel Valley……not super formal not super casual………..here’s my gut (and yes, I always have more than 2 cents).
based on the photo w/the woman’s hands at your waist, it appears you have a tiny figure. I’d accentuate your waist even more – maybe with a ribbon or an even larger belt (if you decide on # 3). Every figure can find a beautiful gown but a beautiful figure can really work the wow factor. You’ve got that so work it girl! 🙂
I’d still like to see you in ivory to at least compare. Or maybe a white dress w/gold jewelry to warm it up. The white looks really cool on your skin and it I think a champagne, ivory or even better -a blush dres would really rock on you.
the #2 dress is darling on you and if you really want to go short, go short. Remember that you can always wear a short dress to someone else’s wedding but you can only wearing a wedding dress on your own wedding day.
The #2 dress has a vintage late 40’s or early 50’s look to it. I’d like to see you try on some more modern dresses just to see how they might work with your location and venue. If you’re going for modern California, try some other gowns.
look at Elizabeth Dye’s site from Portland (models are a tad on the too thin side but her gowns are very feminine.) http://www.elizabethdye.com
anthropologie’s wedding site goes up on 2/14
If you love #2, go for it. I’m guessing you don’t and that’s why you posted a poll w/other dresses. Try out some other designers and styles and you’ll start getting a feel for what works with your figure. If after that, you are still thinking about #2, then that is the dress that is for you. Focus on that tiny waist and post more photos for us 🙂
#2 looks so beautiful but you have a great figure so they are all very flattering. 😀
I voted for no.1 cause it seemed the most bridal to me, though all these dresses are so gorgeous!!
The POB halter is STUNNING. It’s a gorgeous dress and you look fab in it.. to me, the others just don’t compare!!
Elizabeth Dye’s dresses are gorgeous, though I think they have the same issue that I have with #2 being somewhat vintage. Although they’re a lot more modern, they’re still very feminine and romantic. It’s the same way the halter feels a little not quite me, which is one of the reasons I’m waffling a little on committing to it. I do love the way it looks on me and love how it moves and feels, but it’s not really what I was expecting. Something like #3 was a lot more of what I was expecting – streamlined and simple with just enough detail, but it’s really not much fun at all and I didn’t like it nearly so much as I was expecting.
I have tried on a lot of longer dresses and I feel even more out of sorts, like I’m playing dress up with them. The simplest ones feel too bland, the detailed ones feel too overdone and they all just feel like way too much fabric. As much as I know I’m giving up my chance to have a wedding dress, I’m also seizing my chance to have a dress that is more unique and fun and easy to move in at my wedding, right?
I don’t mind going out to look at more, but I feel like eight months out I am starting to run short on lead time for orders and want to get a decision made. I am such a terrible overanalyzer… I can’t tell if I am just being commitment phobic or what.
I think you should take another picture of dress two and show him again… the lighting in that picture isn’t very good and i think the shadows of the fabric could be what he doesn’t like the look of. try getting a picture in good lighting and see what he thinks… see if he even knows it is the same dress!!!
I don’t really like the belt. If it were me I’d do the dress plain and wear some big gorgeous jewelry.
Dress #2!!! It looks so good on you!
But I understand where you’re coming from. Have you had any luck finding maybe something similar he might be more into?
