We are doing a signature drink and torn between two honeymoon inspired drink names. We are going to Tahiti and Moorea.
1. The Tahiti-tini… served in a martini glass. We will come up with the ingredients later. My mom says it should be blue for the water but I was never a fan of blue drinks. We will probably go with something pink.
2. The South Pacific… served in a tumbler/rocks glass, which will make it a little easier to carry around during the cocktail hour.
My sis told me that the Tahiti-tini was too cheesy.
Thoughts or other options? Thanks!

Well, if you’re considering the first option, why not just call it a Tahitini? Way less awkward to pronounce.
That said, I’d go w/ the second. To my mind, a proper martini is made with gin, good vermouth, and a twist – nothing else. Anything masquerading as a ___-tini and involving vodka is probably cloyingly sweet and alarmingly colored, and as such, should leave the good name of the martini unsullied.
More importantly: Whatever you pick, for the love of God use fresh lemon/lime/whatever juice. No sweet and sour mix.

On a side note: your honeymoon sounds awesome.

Go with the South Pacific for sure 🙂 pretty colored drinks in martini glasses + cocktail hour = lots of spills and broken glassware (says the wedding planner 😉 )

How about calling it a “Thai-the-knot”

Thanks bees!!! I agree that a martini glass would mean some serious spillage as the night goes on!
@S.H.: I’m more of a dirty martini kind a girl!
