I honestly think something in between.  I’m a size 5 and my ring is about 1.6 and to me, it’s perfect.  So maybe between 1.25-1.5 ct.

I hear a lot of bees talking about your diamond “shrinking” the more you get used to it! I would say if you can afford it/your lifetsyle permits, go big or go home!! Otherwise, the 1 carat looks lovely too, and (at least for my area) is the more common size. (or even quite big for my area!)

I’m a size 4.5 and I thought a 1-carat round diamond looked big on my hand. Pro tip: If you want the center stone to look bigger, go with a thinner band. The band on your ring is rather wide, which makes the center stone look smaller.

I would agree with PP something in between might be perfect for you!

I think the bigger one looks great! Are those 2 different rings?

Definitely 1 ct. I’m basically a 4.5 and 0.8 ct DEW looks huge on me. Agree with PP that the thick band makes the stone look a little smaller.

I think it depends on what YOU think! If you’re really stuck and unsure, think about if you typically like bigger bling, or if smaller fits your personality more. As well as your jewlers upgrade program! If you can upgrade anytime, you can always do so. But keep in mind if they require 2x the amount to be spent! For reference, I have a 1.92 excellent cut stone on a 4.5 finger. It might be a little in your face but I’m pretty in love!

I have a one carat princess size 4.5. I think I prefer that on me over a two carat, but I think somewhere in between is the best compromise. It didn’t fit our budget, but if it’s feasible, go for it!

I’d do a 1 to 1.5 with a thinner band. The 1 looks really nice on you, I just don’t like the proportions of stone to band. The 1 looks a lot closer to a 1.5 on you.

The 2 almost looks uncomfortably large, especially with that thick band. Must be nice to have that “problem”!

Depends on if you’re going  for sophisticated or flashy look. I voted for 1.ct..

@twentytwentybride:  I agree with PP that a thinner band will make your diamond appear larger but I still voted for the 2 ct. I love bling lol 😆

They both look beautiful. I think it just depends on your lifestyle and what you like. Go with your gut!

I’ve got a 1ct diamond and my finger size is UK I 1/2 which us inbetween 4.5 and 4.75. My band is quite thin, I think about 2mm or just under and my wedding ring is 1.8mm. I personally think somewhere around 1.5ct would be the perfect size for a 4.5 finger, that’s ofc up to personal taste! My husband want to upgrade my ring in a few years and I am think someweher between 1.3 – 1.5ct. IMG_9282
