@luna_c: Hehe it was soooo much fun! I was the only one in the shop and I kept on asking to try on others! I think I tired on about 6, which probably isn’t that many, but for me it felt like a lot! And I felt guilty making the shop assistant get out all these rings for me! I hope I get to do it again sometime though 🙂 I loved it! I suppose next time I’ll be looking at different types of oval diamonds and rings 😉

The classic round followed by the unique pear.

@hidingpearl: oval!!!! Love it !!

All the shapes look beautiful on you! I have a round myself but I think the elongated shapes look better on you than the round. I tend to like curvy flowy shapes so I would probably pick the oval but the pear looks awesome too. I do like marquises as well but I wish you had a picture of one. I think that shape would look awesome as well.
I guess I’m no help!

Hm, I’m usually very partial to pears, but the oval is the clear winner here, to my eye!

The oval looks great on your finger! Have you compared an oval moissy with an oval diamond?

@hidingpearl: I’m pretty ambivalent about ovals in general but that ring in the photos is GORGEOUS.

I think the oval looks timeless and classy on you. You have amazing hands, so any ring you choose would look great, but my vote is definitely for the oval!

I love the oval. I would go oval. The pear is a close second.

I have fingers like yours. I thought the marquise and pear shapes were so weird from when I looked in pics. But when I tried them on – BAM – nothing looked better than marquise on my fingers and it was different enough for me.
I think oval and marquise will look great on you. Pear also does, but it just depends on if you like that shape (it’s basically a marquise and oval combined, so it depends on if you like complete symmetry or not). If I were you, I wouldn’t even consider round or square if you like the more unique shapes – round/square don’t have the same impact on slender longer fingers. Katie Holmes had one of my favorite ovals.

@hidingpearl: Personally, I love the oval!

@flowercrowns: I haven’t seen a diamond oval in person but I’ve seen a moissy oval in person, compared to a CZ. Yes that’s right! Those photos of the oval and pear halos have CZ centre stones!! Would you believe it!? That jeweler doesn’t sell CZ stones, but it was just the way they display their settings, I suppose a way to keep the costs down. Anyway, I was really disappointed in the oval moissy 🙁 I think it’s the shape that I don’t like, I prefer it longer and slender, with it a bit more narrow at the top and bottom. I also in general didn’t much like the moissy stones in general, which was quite sad because I was so super exited about getting a moissy!! Ah well, perhaps a diamond it is.
@ny88: thank you 🙂 that is very sweet! I’ve never thought of my hands as amazing, but it’s nice to hear another’s opinion. I do really love the oval.
@oOmrsstopaOo: I looooove the oval too!
@Shkragoldfish: interesting points you make! Funny you mentioned the symmetry thing because I love things to be symmetrical and that thought never even crossed my mind about a pear! I guess pear is out then. Yeah is love to try a marquise on, just to see what it’s like. I think I prefer ovals because I want a 4 prong claw setting and from what I’ve seen, marquise have little prongs at both pointy ends too. You’re right also about staying away from round and square. I’ve never been a square fan anyway, but it’s good to know they aren’t the most flattering cut for my fingers, nor are they unique enough 🙂
i just also wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to EVERYONE who is voting and commenting on this post 🙂 your positivity is so humbling and nice, especially when I’m having a bad day (too often), it’s so lovely to read your beautiful replies 🙂

@hidingpearl: I love the oval shape on your hand, I’d suggest without the halo.
