Tacori 2639 is the ring we’ve picked out…but I don’t know whether or not I like the side stones so i’m turning to the people of Weddingbee. I trust that your judgements will come from experience and a trained eye for beauty when it comes to this sort of thing…
The plain shank lets the center stone do the talking and I do love how there’s sort of a flash when the smooth shank catches the light just right.
The paved shank is undeniably more feminine but since the setting itself uses very small diamonds, (more sor than your average pave’d ring) it’s not a huge sparkle like one would assume from a paved ring.
I know there are some of you out there that are wondering why I’m having a difficult time..It’s obviously the one with more diamonds, right? I wish it were that simple for me as well
I believe the two rings, although exactly the same apart from the shank, give off two totally different feelings: the pave a more modern “pretty” feel and the other a more sophisticated feel… The pave sides seem to be the obvious winner when in direct sunlight but almost looks “dirty” or “old” when the lighting is dimmer. Does this make sense? I hope it comes through in the pictures. The plain shank just seems to always have the same effect…
?? who knows…
Please help with your votes and why you picked the one you did.
(the rings have 2 different center stone sizes. This is just because that’s all they had in stock for display)

Totally and completely prefer the plain shank.

I also prefer the plain shank.

I prefer the pave. I like the more “dainty” – and like you said, pretty – feel of it.

Eek, that’s tough. I really like them both for different reasons. I see what you mean about the diamonds in the pave band almost being too small so that they don’t even sparkle..so in this case I think I’d vote for the plain shank. You should add a pole to this thread so ppl can vote!

I like the delicate pave shank. The diamonds are really small, but I like them!

I have the similar 2620 and I think I know why you are feeling like the pave doesn’t look as good. It appears to me that the shank on the plain is wider than the pave. The rings come in different sizes depending on the size of the center stone (SM, M, LG) an with each size the shank gets wider. I found that I hated the pave shank on the MD ring, but loved it on the large size. I think yo really make the decision you need to compare apples to apples in terms of shank width.
