    I have no idea what most of that stuff is, to be honest. I suspect many of your guests won’t either.

    I would go with the option that seems the safest, considering that there will only basically be one option.

    I chose the melon starter because I don’t care for tomato soup and didn’t know what the other option was.

    I chose the chicken entree because I think it is safest to go with a meat, and I think chicken is more popular than pork.

    I chose the black forest trifle for desert because I think a brownie is too plain (you can make them yourself at home) and I didn’t know what the eaton mess was!

    Since it sounds like it’s a breakfast, I went with the ones that seemed slightly more “breakfasty” to me – the fruit, the Mediterranean veggies and the brownie/shortbread 🙂

    ETA: Now that I see what an Eaton Mess is, perhaps that over the brownie/shortbread?

    @ZebraPrintMe:  you said this is a wedding breakfast.  what time is this meal?  the mains sound heavy for breakfast.  tasty, but not what i would expect for breakfast.

    None of them really sound like”breakfast” to me, but I also don’t know what some of those dishes are!

    It’s Eton Mess, not Eaton Mess.

    I oted pork loin because I have no idea what chicken supreme is (and I’m a UK bride like you, so it’s not a language barrier- your UK guests might struggle with this too). Having googled, I’m still none the wiser- some recipes say garlic and onions, others have parsley, some bacon…

    I feel really uncultured because I could only recognize a few items on the menu (and that was after having spent a lot of time in the UK).  Still I’d worry about some of the main items being too heavy.

    I’m a sucker for fruits so that was a no brainier. Other than that, I chose what I know and I’m guessing your guest will do the same!

    @ZebraPrintMe:  Whoops! Well I guess then I would change my first choice to tomato soup, and my second to the chicken. I personally would prefer the pork (yum, sounds good!), but I would guess the chicken would be more universal. And I would stick with the brownie 🙂

    I think you need advice from UK brides as the culture barrier seems to be an issue here. The menu sounds lovely and chicken is a safe option as most people eat chicken! Eton mess is a traditional English dessert so I’d go for that too. None of it sounds too heavy considering how English weddings run.
