We are planning on booking our honeymoon for next August within the next week to take advantage of some early booking deals. We are having trouble deciding between the following two choices.
5 Night Eastern Carribean Cruise–$389 (plus taxes & fees) per person for Oceanview Room
Ports of Call: Miami, Florida | Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos | Half Moon Cay (Little San Salvador Island), Bahamas | Nassau, Bahamas
+2 excursions: $130 per person
+2 nights in Miami (sight seeing, food, shopping, resort stay) $450
+ Flights: $350 per person
Total for Trip A: $2,360 for 7 day trip (including hotel stay + cruise)
7 day Southern Carribean Cruise–$509 plus taxes per person (ocean view room)
San Juan, Puerto Rico | St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands | Bridgetown, Barbados | St. Lucia, Caribbean |St. Kitts, St. Kitts and Nevis | St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles
+ 3 excursions: $200 per person
+ 3 nights in Puerto Rico (Hotel, food, shopping) $600
+ Flights: $410 per person
Total Trip B: $3,200 for 10 days (including 3 day hotel stay + 7 day cruise)
While we originally budgeted $2500 for our honeymoon, we can afford up to $4000 for the trip. What would you bees do?
ETA: Would you rather save $1,000 by going with Trip A (ideally toward a home downpayment) or go all out for an awesome honeymoon on Trip B?
