    I would definately have a fish option for those that don’t eat meat.

    I’d go with chicken and salmon. Chicken is a pretty universal favorite and it’s always good to have a seafood option 🙂

    Do you have a vegetarian option?  If not, definitely go with chicken and salmon.  Meat lovers will choose chicken since there’s no beef, and vegetarians will still be ok with salmon (I think), depending on how strict they are I guess!  We did prime rib, chicken and a veggie dish.

    I agree, I am a vegetarian and would probably be looking for a veggie dish, I wouldn’t mind eating fish if I had to but I know there are much stricter vegheads than me.

    It’s weird they only let you have 2 options, a lot of people don’t eat meat at all, and a lot don’t eat red meat, a lot hate fish, I feel like steak chicken and veggie is the safest way to go.

    I would do the chicken and steak options Then ask the venue for a veggie dish too.

    Salmom is NOT a veggie option.

    Can you be more specific with the menu choices? Not everyone will like how certain meats (seafood included which is meat) are prepared. Guests need to know what you are serving beforehand, due to allergies or simply not liking a certain ingredient at all.

    That said, most people prefer either steak or seafood. Chicken in a banquet setting is very difficult to cook properly so it’s either cooked too long or not long enough, the latter of which is deadly.

    @mwitter80: Thank you!

    Fish is not a vegetarian option (unless you are getting married in Spain) so regardless you will need something in addition for those that don’t eat meat.

    I voted Steak and Chicken (it is what we are having) and fish tends to smell and even those that don’t eat fish will have to “enjoy” the odor. I am super sensitive to that smell so perhaps it is just my opinion. 🙂

    Does your venue have a tasting?  We really wanted to do steak/fish/veggie options – but, after tasting all the beef, we opted for chicken.  It’s less ‘fancy’ IMO, but I’d rather serve tasty chicken than gross-tasting beef!

    I’m getting my rsvps back right now, and we have 4 options, and I would say that about 85% of people are requesting salmon or steak.
