I am wearing the Maggie Sottero Kendra in Pearl. It appears in person to be a very light champagne color, so I am in search of a custom-made champagne veil. I saw ivory next to it at the dress store when I tried the dress on, and hated how ivory looked.
My real question: I don’t know what length to choose! At the back of the dress (I don’t have a tattoo, but imagine a little lower than the ‘stamp’ area…) there is a beautiful rhinestone applique that I want to make sure gets seen. I also don’t want to take away from any natural beauty of the dress. Please help me decide what will look best! My dress isn’t in yet, so I can’t really just try things on ‘for fun’ to see.

I love Kendra! One of my finall 3 choices, but not my dress. What about a fingertip length or slightly shorter, so that it ends right where the applique is placed? Either that, or a simple 1 tier cathedral length veil so that the appliques can shine through the veil!

I think cathedral. I think anything else wouldn’t seem elegant enough.

I think either the cathedral or the fingertip. I would do a single, very thin tier of either one though so it is very subtle and complimentary instead of going over the top.

I think any of those choices would look great. If your concern is showing the applique for the ceremony I would stick with an elbow length veil. If you want a more formal look the cathedral would probably be your best bet.

@mrsjimenez71203: That sounds absolutely beautiful! I would have loved to do a veil like that, and thought a lot about it. I ended up going for a corded edge (1/8 inch) champagne fingertip veil, waterfall style with an angel cut to taper inwards. I had it made by Occansey Designs (I love it!) This way, the back applique is still able to pop through. I’m planning on taking the veil off ASAP after the ceremony and thought that I was nuts to spend what people wanted for a crystal-edge veil. They are stunners, for sure, though, and the crystal edging is such a great look for Kendra!
