- Wedding: August 2012
I’m having such a hard time deciding what kind of veil to use for my wedding… I have huge angel wings on my back that I want to show off with my strapless dress, so I don’t want my veil to obstruct that too much. I’m debating between a birdcage veil, a mantilla veil, and a 2 tier veil.
My dress is Maggie Sottero’s Beth dress, so I definitely want a lot of black in my veil.
The first veil is a birdcage veil with a black rose (I LOVE roses).
The second veil is a black tull birdcage veil… But I would use a different fascinator because that one is WAY too big for me… I want something small and simple.
The third veil is a mantilla veil with black lace. It’s fairly see through, so I think my wings would still be noticable. I would make it a little shorter. The mantilla veil comes in diamond white with black lace (and my dress is diamond white with black lace).
The fourth veil is a two tier veil. One of the options is to change the crystals to black crystals, and that is what I would do. Plus, I would make the veil a bit shorter than it is in this picture.
The fifth veil I really like as well… It’s black, but still pretty see through and fairly short. It’s got a black rose on it and I think it’s very pretty/cute!
What are your opinions, bees? I’d love to hear them! My mom thinks I should go with a short birdcage kind of veil to show off my wings (she mentioned that first, not me 😉 ).
Oh right! And the wedding is an outdoor wedding in some botanical gardens… What do you think would fit the venue best? I plan to take the veil off after the ceremony. If I have a birdcage veil, I will keep the fascinator in. If I have a normal veil, I will probably just wear a tiara or something. Sorry this is so long, but I thought I should explain everything so I can get the best responses possible. Thanks in advance!
