I plan on doing a post-wedding photoshoot in my wedding dress and really want to wear a veil since I only wore my wedding dress at the reception.
Here are some pictures of my dress. As you can see its lace with georgette inserts in the skirt. It also has a chapel length train (I never got to wear it like this as it was bustled for the reception!)
Me in my dress at the reception:
I love love love photos with cathedral length veils, they look so dramatic and romantic!
But I also adore birdcage veils and I love the whole vintage look, but I was unsure if it would look ok with a lace low back dress?
Then I saw Kate’s…oops… Duchess Catherine’s fingertip (or was it longer?) length veil with its lace edging…. gorgeous!!!
I already bought these earrings that I *might* wear as they match my dark blue sapphire pear wedding ring.
Anyone have any suggestions of what length veil will compliment my dress? Any and all opinions welcome!
And thank you ladies in advance!
Oh and here’s a great chart with all the length and names of the veils

First of all, you are absolutely stunning. Like breathtaking! And I really like the idea of wearing a veil similar to the duchess’s (who am I kidding? She’ll always be Kate to me!). That would complement the lace on your dress so beautifully!

I love the idea of the long ones, and even a lacy one like Kate’s!

tntrav44 awww thanks your so sweet! I really love Kate’s veil but I just looked at some similar veils online and they’re all $200++ which is a little much to spend for a post wedding shoot. I might have to keep an eye on the classifieds and etsy for something under $200.
Another thought is to go to the fabric store and make my own simple chapel/cathedral veil. I’m not the most proficient at sewing but it shouldn’t be too difficult…right?!

I think a long — but simple — veil would look gorgeous with your dress and would be really fun for the pictures! I would probably avoid the edged veils, even though they’re pretty, because the edging can weigh them down (at least mine did) and make it harder to get the sweeping veil pictures like the one you posted 🙂
