A week from the wedding and I am second guessing my veil. Which is not surprising considering I changed my mind on the dress several times. I LOVE the veil I have now but am starting to worry it clashes with the dress. I’m thinking a simpler veil may complement the overall look better. But I have been so close to planning it is hard to know if I am just being crazy and paranoid or not. Overthing is kind of my thing lol The major pro is the first veil is that I love it and my Fiance does too. He fell in love with me in it right away. The cons? It possibly beng too formal for the overall look and the color not matching 100%. Does it distract from the dress too much? The second veil isn’t much but it’s classic and it’s Vera. The plain is definitely a safer bet. But do I really want the safe bet? Or is it even a safe bet, I don’t know? So bee’s, should I go with the veil I have now (first2 pics)? Or switch to the Vera Wang 2 tier walking veil? Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics and the bit of rambling on:/

christin5135: I LOVE the veil you have on now! I’d go with that! You look so gorgeous in this ensemble!

pengoala: Miss Walrus: Thank-you so much ladies! It’s so hard to judge when it’s allll I think about right now! Your input seriously helps put my mind at ease! About the veil, at least!

I really love the second one, but I think that’s just my personal style making that decision 🙂 I think they both look equally good and both go well with your dress 🙂

the first one doesn’t match your dress.
and the second one is very modern and simple like your dress.
i think the long veil looks a little odd with such a short dress…i would go with a shorter veil or a blusher

i love the first one! i actually really like that it doesn’t “match”, i think it looks really cool and decadent almost. love it!

Not trying to be mean, but the first veil seems to be so busy for a simple, short dress like that. i feel like it takes away the look of you, where people SHOULD be looking, not at a veil.

rothy: thank you! The poll pretty much reflects your answer lol I was hoping there would be a cut and dry answer but it’s looking like it will be up to me to make a final decision!
rosecut: thank you for the opinion. I actually am in love with the long veil/short dress combo. It’s mostly the embellishments that are confusing me.
sleepyhead22: thanks! Sometimes I think the same thing, that the mismatching is fine and maybe even a little fashion forward, if you will. But then I teeter lol I never knew a veil would be such a hard decision!
elyseDCB: that’s a good point. I definitely would rather have people remember my overall look instead of just the veil.
Overall, I still can’t decide! I have until Monday. Hopefully I have an epiphany by then!

The simplicity of the dress lends itself to a more ornate veil. I think the short dress/ long veil combo really works. I love your whole look. It really suits you and you look distinctive.

Oo I like the first veil. I love the drama/couture feel of the super detailed veil with the non-traditional short dress! It’s so… suprising, fashionable, and glamorous! Like something I’d expect a celebrity to do. Plus, you said both your Fiance and you love it! That’s enough reason for me. Don’t let last minute stress scare you away 🙂

observer: All the veil etiquette guidelines I read say similar things! They say that embellishments are fine as long as they start below the embellishments of the dress. I only have some ivory stones towards the neckline and the veil lace starts below the waist, leading me to believe it is fine. But, I clearly am not the etiquette queen lol Very non traditional wedding and bride. I just want to look chic and bridal and awesome! Thanks for your input and compliment! 🙂
