As an officiant, I actually very rarely receive an invitation (I’ve done nearly forty weddings this year and I think I’ve recevied two) – which is not to say that I don’t LOVE when I get an actual invite!  And it also doesn’t mean I’m invited… I’ve been invited to stay for the reception about 50% of the time.

I was planning on sending an invitation to my officiant and my photographer, but I do have a bit of a relationship with both of them outside of the fact that they are working on my wedding.  So – it’s really up to you.

We only sent one to our officiant, I think normally that is the only person you would send one too.

You’re supposed to send one to your soon-to-be-spouse? Lol, can’t you just tell them to be there?

We sent an invitation to our officient and his spouse. He is our pastor and actually, baptized Fiance last Sunday with my twins and both sets of our parents present-quite the poignant moment for all of us and a couple of teary sniffles were heard in the congregation with the twins holding FIs hand after he stood up from the railing. 🙂

Our pastor’s wife is also our soloist, so they are invited to the rehearsal dinner-which I also sent them an invite too. I asked him if he would be willing to do the blessing also. I got them a “joint” appreciation gift and Fiance will be handing him an envelope with his honorarium in it at some point in time on our wedding day. I also sent an invite to our florist-lol-I hired her as my wedding director also because she is A. tough as nails when she needs to be B. doesn’t personally know anyone in the wedding, so she can get things done without hurting anyone’s feelings C. Is around weddings all the time and she and I agree on everything that is transpiring the day of and D. I trust her completely and seeing as she was an encore bride just two short years ago, we are birds of a feather, so she can relate to all we are experiencing.

All of that being said-rehearsal dinner invites and wedding invites to our pastor and his wife and our florist/director. 🙂

We did not send one to any of our vendors, though I considered sending one to our photographer because I wanted her to take pictures of it, but then I didn’t want to have to explain that to her. We paid for her meal at the dinner but I just ended up emailing her to ask her what she wanted instead.

I’m not sure which vendors we are sending an invitation to yet but it is in our contract that our photographer is to be sent and invitation, including directions to the wedding. So I would double check to see if it shows up in small print anywhere
