So, I’ve already bought the 1st dress but I STUMBLED upon the second newer dress when I was looking for photos of the dress I bought. And well, it’s amazing! The pink one has JUST been released. Do you think pink dresses are a good idea? I love Anne Hathaway’s dress and that’s what the newer one reminds me of. BUT I loved how the original one I bought fits and the drop basque waist (looks like the one in the movie Bride Wars)
I’d love your opinion on which dress you prefer & why!!

I think both dresses are beautiful, but the first dress is much more classic, elegant, and bridal. The second dress is very editorial and fashion-forward. Because of these differences, the first dress will look more timeless and classic in your wedding pictures.

I love the dress you bought and agree with PP that it’s a classic and very elegant dress. I’m not a fan of the bottom of Dress #2 at all. I love the top with the illusion straps…maybe you can have your seamstress do something to your dress so it can look that way, if that’s the look you’re going for?

@Brielle: you make a good point. I still wish I hadn’t seen the newer one… it was originally exactly the type of thing I was looking for when I started shopping!

@WYAtocha: I love the straps too… but it was more the colour and draping of the tulle skirt that won me over! And those 2 things are so different from the 1st dress!
Wow, the poll is still neck-and-neck! hmm…

@MissGemini: I really should stop posting today, because, for some reason, I am feeling WAAAAY too generous in wanting to help other people spend their own money, hahahaha. However, since both dresses are beautiful and are very reasonably priced, and you seem to love the other so much, you COULD always keep the first gown for your ceremony and buy the other one for your reception. However, if that would put you over your budget for your dress, then that would not be a wise idea.

@MissGemini: I like the first. Can you shAre a pic of you in it? I remember the dress from bride wars! 🙂
ETA Did you get it at DB? Can’t you talk to them To exchange if you really liked the pink one? I’d try 🙂

The first one is more elegant, I think. I loooove the bodice and the shape of the skirt. The second one is nice, but the first is nicer.

idk I think I’m in the minority but I think the first dress is a bit boring. I really like the second dress, I think its fresh and elegant, and the drapings still make it classic. Have you tried them on? I’d be curious to see how they look on you? Also, do you feel like one or the other fits your personality better?

They are both from David’s Bridal (the option to exchange MAY be possible, though the 2nd one is less money so I doubt they’d be ok with that)
Unfortunately I don’t have a photo of me in the 1st one when I bought it, but it’s scheduled to come in in Feb. so I’ll be sure to take photos. And the pink one wasn’t even out when I went shopping so I haven’t tried it on!
@lanipapillon: If I stick with the original dress I think I’m going to add a ribbon sash to make it a little different…

@lanipapillon: same here.
I think dress 2 is way more beautiful and interesting to look at!

I absolutely love pink dresses but I’m not a huge fan of that one. The skirt is too busy for me. I really like the first one and I think it’s a very classic choice. I would suggest trying the pink one on because you may not even like it and then your problem is solved.

@MissGemini: I am a bad bad bad person and I will rot in hell. Because–I’m going to beg you to buy that blush dress. It is SO freakin’ fabulous!
Now I will say that your first dress is lovely and romantic, like the blush dress. It’s just tha the blush dress is pink it is PINK do you get it? it is PINK!!!!!!! Plus it is interesting with its illusion bodice and pretty, swirly, asymmetrical skirt.
But I like both of them, both are my style. I love tulle. That whilte tulle dress is classic, pretty and simple, you can’t go wrong with it.
(Devil whispering in her ear: )go pink sweetie! haha.

Not sure if you’ve gone in to see with your own eyes the newer Vera Wang dress, but I was just at a David’s today and in my opnion I thought the color was much less pink and almost a strange brownish/mauve. I din’t think it was very appealing…

@lanipapillon: i’m with you on this.
they are both beautiful but i love, love, love that 2nd dress. it’s so whimsical.
