I have the Hearts on Fire Transcend Dream ring:
Should I get the matching Transcend diamond band? Or a regular platinum band?
I have tried the Transcend band and well, it’s a set, so of course it matches well. My problem is, I don’t wear my e-ring on a regular basis. I’m a psychiatric nurse and I don’t want to risk losing it. But I DO want to wear my wedding band every day. Thus, I was thinking of just a regular platinum band. But I don’t know if it’ll match the e-ring when I do wear it out. Opinions/advice? Thanks!
Oh and the price difference…we can afford either, but the transcend band is about $2400 and platinum is about $400.

I like the plain band because your ring is soooo pretty that I think that it is more amazing standing on its own and doesn’t need anything else.

i like the idea of having the plain band but i would suggest against platinum. if you are just wearing a plain band and you have any job or lifestlye that involves using your hands a lot platinum will nto work so well. if it scratches you cant buff it out so they tend to look more beat up quickly and its not fixable like with white gold. my Future Mother-In-Law is a nurse and she had this problem with her band. she now has a tugsten band that looks almost identical to her platinum band the only difference is that it can take a beating when it needs to and still looks as good as the day she bought it. this is actually almost identical to hers and i think it could look great with your e-ring too. it has a bit of a pattern to it but would still compliment

@aprose:I’m not sure what your Future Mother-In-Law or you heard about platinum but you can polish out scratches and dings on platinum. One reason that it’s always been popular is that when you scratch it, instead of tearing out a chunk of metal like you would with gold, you separate the metal and create a divot–so scratches and dings over the years don’t slowly wear the metal away as quickly as with gold.
I personally love the plain band. I volunteer at the mental hospital in my city and would contantly worry about losing a stone off of the other band. I also love the look of the solid band against the sparkly e-ring. It’s not all matchy-matchy but it definitely goes well together.

@zomgwut: yea, i worry about losing a diamond, or the whole ring, since i put gloves on and take them off throughout the day. and just that I work at the county hospital in a pretty sketchy neighborhood and it’s kinda scary to wear bling around there. but I do love the diamond band too…the Fiance is suggesting maybe platinum now…and he’ll get me the diamond on our first anniversary so I can have both.

I personally think the plain band would look amazing, but if you decided on the diamond band then i think you should get 2 of them, one either side of your E ring to balance the look.
