Hi fellow bees…help me please 🙂
Argh–sometimes I really hate making decisions! I’m not sure which ring to use as my wedding band.
I have a 1 ct. round diamond channel set band that my Fiance gave me as an anniversary present (that ring is so special to me, so why not use it as our wedding band?). My concern is the diamond band is white gold and my engagement ring is not, so I’m not sure if it’s OK to clash metals?
…..or would a plain band look best with my ring? That is a ring turned so that only the band is showing, but if I was to do a plain band it would look similar to that band. The plain band that I purchase would be bought in the same metal as my e-ring, so the different metal wouldn’t be a worry.
Ohhh….I don’t know! This is where you help! Which looks best? Is it funny to convert my anniversary band to a wedding band, or is that sweet and personal? You tell me what you would do!
This band does sit flush with the e-ring, but my e-ring isn’t pushed tightly up against the band in this picture.
**Sorry if the sizing of the pictures are off…I tried to resize them so that they weren’t massive!

What kind of metal is your engagement ring?
I like the plain one, but I think the sentimentality of the anniversary band puts it ahead of a plain one.

I like the plain one better – can you get one with “knife edge” to match your e-ring band?

Although, I LOVE diamonds….honestly the plain band looks better. It has a very classic and clean look. Love it!

I like the diamond one better (but I’m biased, it’s what mine will look like!)… I think the sentimental aspect of it makes it even sweeter!

I think that the plain band matched better and will probably wear better together. BUT – wear the one that will make you happy when you look at it.
I know people who will sometimes wear just their wedding band when they work out, go out with the girls, etc. You could use your diamond band during those times… so in essence be using them both.

I like the plain one, it gives a more cohesive look. To me, the diamond band competes with the e-ring too much.

One thing to think about is whether you would like a band that will hold up to rougher wear (that would be the plain band). For me that is important.

I love the look of diamonds surrounding an engagement ring; however, with the rings that you have showed us, I think the plain band looks best. Personally, I would check out the wraps. I know you could find one with diamonds that would look awesome with your ring.

Thanks ladies…..I’m thinking of getting the band of the e-ring altered so that the knife edge is removed (not a huge fan of it) and the width slightly slimmer. I think that will totally transform the look with a wedding band. What do you think?????

With the knife edge I think the plain band looks better, however if you remove the knife edge I would say to go with the diamond band.

@roxy821: That’s exactly what I was thinking!
Getting rid of the knife-edge is easy enough, right? I’m nervous about having it done!

I surprisingly like the plain one better… I agree with Roxy – but that’s easier said than done!
