I voted “something else” but only because I can’t visualise any of the bands you described. I definitely do NOT like the one in the photo, sorry.

No, I don’t think a sapphire/silver band would be noticeably different from your ring, assuming the stones are small. However I personally would not want a silver band for my wedding ring, because silver generally doesn’t last as long . . . (I think). And sapphire certainly is not as durable as moissanite or diamond, which you need to consider if you care about keeping/wearing it for years.

You’ll get a better response on the poll here if you can post some more photos. (:

@valintine:  In terms of durability.. I believe diamonds, moissanites, and sapphires are similar. They are in terms of hardness at least. Diamonds are a 10/10 on the Maid/Matron of Honor scale, moissanites are a 9.25 and sapphires are a 9.

I can see this ring going well with an antique ornate done in white gold that would slip under the halo…something rounded like the ring itself…not as square as the picture…

@tallierand:  Just FYI, Mohs hardness scale is not linear; meaning, sapphire/moissanite and diamond are NOT similarly hard, even though they appear to be on that particular scale. The difference between 9 & 10 on that scale is much greater than 1. Durability-wise, I’m not actually sure which stone is best, although I assume moissanite would win because it is stronger than diamond and harder than sapphire. So I misspoke.

OP I think I understand what you’re describing, but still can’t visualise it, sorry! Maybe just get a plain,  inexpensive band for the wedding (if time is an issue?), and keep searching until you find a design you love. That one dihy posted might look nice. Try pricescope, rockytalk, or the BetterThanDiamond.com forums to find one.

Your ring looks like it has a knife edge and milgrain, so I would go with something like these, ArtCarved or Tacori. So you wedding band would have a knife edge and milgrain also.

@MrsAL2012:  I just started googling ‘antique white gold wedding band’ to find some. It does look like other posters may have some ideas on where to find ones with the same edging (or you can go through google images). The only thing I would try to aim for would be to make sure that it fits comfortably under the edge of the halo (if you do not want a gap). I’m not certain if a knife edge would or not…certainly a way of avoiding having to match stones though.
