Mine is a matching set because that is the look I prefer.  But neither option is right of wrong.  It is all a matter of personal preference.

I like the first (original) non-set set better for ALL of the reasons you purchased it.  It’s more practical, it can stand alone, etc.  I would stick to it, it’s easy to get ring lust in jewelry stores and second guess yourself, it happens to me ALL the time.  Luckily, by the time I get home I remember my original plan and all is well, LOL.  My set is SO mismatched, I don’t think it could get more unmatching.  And I absolutely love it!  I have a CZ matching eternity band though, JUST in case the urge strikes ๐Ÿ˜‰

    My mismatched non-set set:

@girlwiththeredhair:  Aww thanks!!  We all get ring lust, that’s why (some) of us frequent the ring boards Wink  Always go with your gut instinct, because if you’re blinded by bling you’ll reqret it.  I didn’t go with my first instinct for an engagement ring and I lust after them daily…despite having a beautiful ring LOL.

it took us a long time to find my wedding band, I kept trying things on and kept going back to the same place.  Originally I had thought I wanted a plain white gold band to match my solitare e-ring but then I kept going back to the channel set and just couldnt stop thinking about the channel set diamond wedding band.

I dont think having a “set” is important, the bands dont have to come together in one package.  Just make sure you are really happy with what you decide on.  get something you really LOVE b/c remember its what you will wear the rest of your life ๐Ÿ™‚

You can be as creative as you want, you are the one wearing it!!!  Its so exciting ๐Ÿ™‚

My e-ring and wedding band are not a matching pair, but I do feel that they complement each other:

@girlwiththeredhair:  Thank you!  I actually think both of your wedding rings would look good with your e-ring, so you can’t go wrong IMO!

Mine don’t match and this pleases me. Both pieces are unique unto themselves, and mean different things. I think if I had a matching set, I could never wear one without the other, and that’s something I decided I always wanted to be able to do. Not everyone feels that way of course, but in my ring search that was a deciding factor.
