I need help with a dress. I went with two friends to David’s bridal. and I tried on two dresses that I love for separate reasons. I’m thinking about having a beach wedding
The first one I like because it gives me the romantic feel, and the back is gorgeous. The second one I like because its still very pretty and much more practical (its a two-in-one) and I can plan to just take off the long skirt and go out to dinner after the ceremony with the shortened version. My friends like the second dress because its more practical and they find it more elegant. but i really like the romantic feel of the first one and the back is gorgeous and it doesnt hurr that its about $300 cheaper than the second one. But the problem with the first dress is that it is already discontinued and there is only one dress left in the store so i’ll need to get right away if i like it. I need some feedback!! (btw, my wedding is in nov 2012, so i would still have up to the end of this year to purchase a dress if i keep looking)
Second dress: (the sash is just an accessory)

Hi there! Welcome to the hive! You should really put a poll up with your post to help.
I have to say, I love the first one a lot more – it does have the romantic feel. Also, make sure you REALLY love her, because you have a long time before your date and you don’t want to be overwhelemed with dress envy.
ETA: Also, what is your venue like, where will you be getting married? They are both 2 different styles, so sometimes that helps. Also, if you purchase the first one, you will have to figure out some sort of preservation and storage for it.

Don’t buy now unless you absolutely love the dress. You could change your mind twenty times between here and there! Both lovely dresses on you, but maye the long one swamps you a little?

I say get the first dress, then take the $300 elsewhere to find a cute shorter dress for the dinner!

I like the first dress better. It feels more bridal and you seem to love it. lol Remember, nothing about weddings are practical

I agree with everything Aunt Pol said.

I totally like the first one!

I think they’re both beautiful, but you seem to love the first so I would go with that. And I like the idea of taking money you saved and getting a short dress if you want one for dinner.

The first one is beautiful, flowy, and romantic. It looks great on you! The second one looks great too, the first one is more beautiful to me though.

I agree with the PPs who said not to buy too fast unless you really love the dress. That being said, I think the first one is beautiful on you and perfect for a beach wedding! So flowy and romantic and it fits you nicely. I have to say, I don’t heart the bubble hem of that short dress on you. 🙁

I voted the first dress, but then I saw that your wedding is a year and a half away. i would actually wait and keep looking. but if you already know that you’ve found “the one,” get it and don’t look at any more dresses in store, in magazines, on weddingbee, etc. because you may end up with dress regret.
you might also go back by yourself to try on the two dresses so that you’re not influenced by others’ opinions. you should get the one that YOU like better since it’s your wedding.

I love the back of the first dress! So interesting and unique

I prefer the first dress. I suggust you take your time and keep looking. With new styles coming out every season your mind will wander and you can definitely afford to wait as your wedding is a year and a half away!

To clarify for others; the second dress is pulled up to make it a reception dress but for the ceremony it would look like the 3rd photo. It’s the new “Convertable” dress that DB carries.
I like the second dress the most beause it’s the 2 style one. Gotta love two birds with one stone!
