When I first started my wedding dress shopping I was really coming up short. Now all of a sudden I like too many dresses! The problem is, so far none of them are 100%. But I can change a few things here and there to make them what I want. Now keep in mind I am 5’1″ and about 95lbs… oh yeah and flat-chested. I want some sparkle and poof but I don’t want to be overwhelmed. Technically I like the look of satin better than taffeta but most of these were taffeta. Only one of the salons allowed us to take pictures.
Dress #1 – Maggie Sottero Decadence (photo of me in the dress)
I really like the neck line on this one.. I think it really flatters me. I’m afraid that there’s too much peak-a-boo lace though so it may make me look short (I am on a pedestal in this pic). It is also has less sparkle and more appliques. I know this comes in satin also but I’m not sure if it looks quite right.
Dress #2 – Maggie Sottero SaBelle (photo of me in the dress)
I find the top of this dress less flattering. I would make the neckline more sweetheart but it still make me look flat. And the rouching isn’t as nice as the Decadence. I like where the peak-a-boo lace lies but it goes all the way around to the back, making it heavy. This one has lots of beading instead of appliques.
Dress #3 – Demetrios Sensualle GR179 (pic from their website)
This dress was much nice in person than in their photos online. The bottom is definitely more poofy than it shows .. but there’s nothing on it. I was thinking of maybe adding beading, but that may not look right. The top is similar to the SaBelle, making me wonder if it makes me look flat. Also, the beading is darker so it stands out more (which I’m not sure about but I liked it in person)
Dress #4 – Demetrios Sposabella 4277 (not me)
I had liked this one better in person than when I see it photographed. I just don’t know if I like the top as much even though it has a lot of detailing. I think I don’t like the very top and how the beading lies. Also, it has a very defined waist. Otherwise I like the bottom of this one.. not too much lace showing.
Dress #5 – Venus 8064 (not me)
This one I tried on several weeks ago and don’t remember much about it except that I liked it. The train was a little boring so I would have to add something to it. I don’t know if this one looks as decadent (for lack of a better word) as the Maggie Sotteros.
