I was planning on purchasing those custom painted Bridesmaid or Best Man wine glasses you often see on etsy for our morning of getting ready mimosas and drinks, and then thought “maybe that’s dumb because they will end up in the back of a kitchen cabinet, never to be used again!”
i have a connection to someone who would be able to purchase pretty much anything from Tiffany using an employee discount (50% off). The all-purpose wine glasses would cost me $10 each, which is cheaper than most etsy customized glasses and of course super classy (who doesn’t love that tiffany blue gift box??). The only remaining decision for me to make is whether to purchase a white wine glass (13oz) or a red wine glass (22 oz).
Which would you ladies prefer to have at home following the wedding?
This is is the white wine glass:

This is the red wine glass (wider bowl):

@Jayceedee: When it comes to wine glasses, I am a “bigger is better” kind of gal. I voted for the red wine glass because I prefer red wine over white.

I like the look of the nice round red glasses better. Are you going to just buy 1 for each of them? Just a thought, but with such an awesome connecttion and only $10, I’d suggest getting each girl 2, even if they only use one the day of the wedding. Personally, I hate just 1 glass. A pair would be much better imo.

I would choose the white wine glass but only because of the size. It’s so easy to overpour with big red wine glasses, and you don’t want your bridemaids tipsy on your wedding day.
If you can afford a pair for each girl, that is an awesome idea.

@Jayceedee: I’m sorry and don’t mean to be blunt, but does it really matter? I can see the red wine glass is very slightly rounder in shape but bottom line, they look exactly the same to me. Would your bridesmaids care or even know the difference?
ETA: Whoops, realised the different sizes. In which case – Bigger is Better!

I like the white wine one. 1) I enjoy white wine more than red, 2) would want to avoid red on the day of the wedding because of possible stains!, 3) I’ve always loved the shape of white wine glasses better, especially ones like this with flatter bottoms.
I echo PPs though and suggest getting at least 2 for each Bridesmaid or Best Man – I hate having orphan wine glasses at home

I voted for the red wine glass because it holds more, and I agree with getting people two versus one if you can swing it. I’d love to get a blue box from tiffany’s ;)! Great idea =)

I hadn’t even thought about getting 2 versus 1, that’s a great point. I am asking her to purchase 9 as it is (8 BMs plus me), I’ll have to see if asking for 18 is pushing it!
thank you for the input regarding the sizes, it’s very helpful!

I think it really depends on your group. For me personally, I would be throwing out any one (or two) off wine glasses. I have a full matching set. I don’t have use for others. Sorry.
I also don’t think it’s much of a gift to give people something because it looks cute in getting ready pictures.
If your girls are drooling over 2 matching wine glasses then go for it. Otherwise, get them for the pics, but get the attendents a gift that is something just for them.

@andielovesj: This is definitely not meant to be their gift. I am getting all of them the jewelry for the day, a glass to use throughout the morning/early afternoon, and a personal gift for each of them.
I can’t say I know anyone that would throw away one (or two) Tiffany wine glasses.
