So there are two options that we really like for our guest book:
1. Signing frame: It’s simple for guests to sign and we can hang it on the wall afterwards. It would have a picture of us in the centre. I like that this doesn’t sit under the coffee table forever unless someone purposely wants to take a look.
2. Scrapbook: I made FH a scrapbook of our adventures so far for our 5th anniversary (and I’ve always been the crafty type so it looked pretty good if I say so myself!). Was thinking of including some blank pages in assorted colours and providing a variety of pens, markers, etc and maybe even a polaroid camera on our wedding day, and having this as our guest book – so essentially, people would be adding pages to our scrapbook. Is it too much fuss for a guest? Will it end up under our coffee table?
I just can’t decide! (And feel free to move to another topic if there is one more relevant…!)

Our photographer is making us an album with our engagement pictures and blank pages for our guest book. I voted for the scrapbook but I would try to keep it simple like you said to keep it less fussy.

@ksus07: we had our guests sign the matting around our favorite engagement photo. It is hanging in the wall in our living room and I stop and read comments every day. I like having it out where I can enjoy it versus tucked away on a shelf.

@Treejewel19: Yeah, that’s exactly what I’ve been looking into, but with a black backing instead of white. Yours looks great!

We did a Polaroid guest book and our guests loved it!!! They also had a lot of fun and got to be interactive.

@Treejewel19: Hey I just thought to ask – How many guests did you have at your wedding? I can see there are good sized “chunky” messages on yours and this is what I would like, but I’m worried there won’t be enough room for everyone to write that much. Did everyone have enough room to sign your frame?

@ksus07: We had 130 guests. There was plenty of room for everyone to sign. I believe the photo is an 8×10 and obviously we did a very large frame with thick matting.
Just a word of suggestion make sure you buy a piece of “museum glass” to replace the frame glass. This will protect the signatures from humidity and sun damage that can result in fading. We paid about $75.00 for the museum glass. It also cuts down the glare as a side bonus so you can actually read the signatures.
