The only diamond that should be taking center stage here, is on the engagement ring itself. If you go with #2, the size of those diamonds overpowers the ring itself. Chevron is a great choice but don’t let it stand out due to it’s large mm. As it is, the eye is drawn to the point then down the progression of the v band unless there is something larger behind it. I hope I phrased that correctly.

danaberries : Oh, I definitley think I could wear the chevron band by itself, and it wouldn’t even look weird, but the fitted band will just look weird by itself.
I asked the jeweler to give me a cost comparision on it, but I think that we are all right by going with my original choice.

nelliemade : totally agree! The fitted one could look a little off by itself. I think you’re making the right decision bee! 😊

bouncybee11 : He knows the due date – we were just a little late getting into him to get it ordered. I wasn’t planning on having a choice – I just expected them to remake the chain stone ring and it would be on it’s way back to me by now.
beethree : Too bad that cads usually don’t show prongs on them – I hadn’t really thought about that. Since I’m fairly active, and even though I typically take off my rings for everything, I think I’ll stick with my original plan. Maybe I can get them to send a wax mold.
nykkee : That would be a hard pass on BHG. They did a cad for me a while back that had the leaves echoed on it, and it was way too much and matchy-matchy. We thought about repeating the blue diamonds but decided white would be more classic, and easier to match, since the diamonds on the ER gradient from lighter to darker at the top.
weddingmaven: I’m a champion ring-trier, I went to almost every store in town, and a few others out of town, and I tried almost every comination offered. Straight, curly, rounded, plain, pave, bubble and breathe, engraved… this one was the only one that truly felt and looked right.

beethree: They actually did do cads with the 4 prongs showing… We’re definitely going smoother on the side, and I’m still waiting to see what that looks like with 4 prongs vs shared.

nelliemade : I would get the smaller stones. The larger ones overpower your large center Moissanite. Plus the smaller one would be nice on its own too.
