@Mrs.Metalm:  This is though one because you saw some red on Saturday. I also get brown before my period sometimes. To be sure, I would say go with Sunday with the full heavy flow. How much red would you say it was, like how many drops on Saturday?

I think it’s supposed to be like the first day where you could fill a panty liner or pad or something.

It’s the first day of a “full” flow, usually bright red, not brown and enough to fill a pad or tampon. It’s also considered CD1 if the full flow starts before 5pm, if it starts after 5pm CD1 should be considered as the next day.

@Mrs.Metalm:  I am still confident that you should count the day of your heavy flow as day 1. Sometimes I get what looks like a super light period, mostly brown and pink. I wait until I get a few consistent drops of red blood, if not then I wait for the next day when it usually comes in full force. Good luck!
