So, ya know how whenever the word “wedding” is involved with anything, it seems like the price is jacked up?
And, I will preface this post by saying that I know that for every good experience out there, someone else will come up with a bad experience…..but, now that I am married and have time to reflect on my day, these are simply my thoughts….
The “extra money” we pay to vendors because it is a “wedding stuff is worth it! On my wedding day, I was not worried about anything….I was totally stress free and I figured that any issues would be dealt with by my vendors…
For example: we got our hair done in the hotel…the hair dressers started getting set up downstairs in the hotel conference room (becuase there was more space). I went down and said I really wanted to do everyone’s hair in my room since it was where everyone was hanging out. While I am sure they were a bit annoyed on the inside, they simply smiled, re-packed up, and moved up to my room. And were very nice the entire time they were there. No worries on my end.
It was supposed to rain on my day (I got married outside). My “loose” back-up plan was to get married in the reception hall…but I had not concrete plans. 24 hours before the wedding, the rain forcast was 90% rain, and all it took was 1 call our reception coordinator and he said he would take care of everything. No worries (and by the way – it did not rain!!)
Everything ran late on my wedding day, and the bus (I hired to transport guests), the limos, and the photogs not only stayed late, but did so with a smile.
I could go on and on…but to sum up, every single person I hired for my wedding was well worth the money I paid. Before I got married, I really balked at some of the prices, but now, seeing all the extra effort all my vendors put in so I did not have to worry about a thing on my wedding made the price so worth it!
So if you are new to the planning process…..definitely check out vendor reviews, but also keep in mind that the ones that charge more usually do so becuase they know they are going to go above and beyond to make sure your day is special.
Just my 2 cents 🙂
And by the way – if you are getting married in the Keys, I am happy to recommed my vendors to you!!
