Hi ladies! I fell in love with a White by Vera Wang ballgown last night. I tried on the 4, but it made me nervous when they said that the samples are stretched a bit and the ones that come in are a bit smaller. The 4 was snug, and not going to lie, I felt like I couldn’t get a full breath in my stomach because of size.
I want to try a sample 6 because I think it will fit much better.
Did you size up when you ordered?

I tried on an 8 and couldn’t get it to fully zip, and the salesgirl took my measurements and said a 10 would be a perfect fit. But typically I’m a street size 10, so that totally made sense to me! I should be getting it in next month…so fingers crossed!

Which ballgown!? My best friend picked out the VW351065 last week and is ordering it a size larger than her dress size! Her normal size zipped but was a tad too tight and yes I am sure it may be stretched out from others trying it on as well.

@MargaritaVille: When I ordered a galina signature from DB, they initially ordered a size up for the same reasons. When it came it, it was huge. I made them exchange for a smaller size.
The real questions should be, were you wearing the undergarments you plan to wear? I initially tried it on with their bra (that cover your waist) and crinoline (that also cover your waist). I didn’t plan to wear either, so they added extra bulk to my waist that woudln’t normally actually be there.

I don’t know. I think mine is true to sz. 0/2 at American eagle. More like a 2. I wear juniors sz 5. I got a 2 preowned. The 0 in the store I couldn’t breathe lol. I’m wearing the one shoulder dress:) vw351010

OMG that happened to me. I could barely sit in the sample. So I stupidly listened to the sales associate and ordered one size up. When it came in it was 2 sizes too big!! I had to have it majorly taken in by my tailor. I was pretty upset at myself for not insiting on being measured and looking at the size chart myself. I didn’t bother trying to find out if I could exchange it for a smaller size since I was completely ignored the minute they handed my dress over so my mom and I just left. Luckily I already had a tailor I trusted and she did a wonderful job. I needed a few other things done to it anyway.

They do it on purpose in hopes to make a sale on alterations I think. They wanted me to order a 4! I said no way. It was too big on me. I was able to compare a 0 and 4. It was baggy. Always insist on getting measured!
