How long did your dress take to come in? I ordered mine 2 weeks ago and got an email today saying it was in which I thought was fishy since they kept telling me the vera dresses take 20 weeks. Anyway, I called and was told if another store gets a shipment from the warehouse and it has the dress they’ll just send that one..or something like that. I was zoning out a bit lol

DB told me it’d take about 6-8 weeks to get my dress in. I think it was just under 2 weeks later it was in. I’ve heard about them giving you a giant time span just to be on the safe side.

I got a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress from DB once and they told us all around 8 weeks. They were all in at less than a month.

What happens at DB is that when you order/inquire about the dress the computer projects a date (in weeks) of the last possible date (adding in time for manufacturing, shipping, border hold ups, customs etc) that the dress will be in the store. If there are zero problems with the dress, and if it is a popular dress/size/colour/slower time of year there is a very good chance that it could already be in the warehouse and sent to the store a lot earlier than projected.

@bossypants: My White by Vera came in in 10 days – they were all surprised it was that quick. I was told 20 weeks MAX – they told me that there was likely one ready in the warehouse where I’m a relatively common size (12) and my dress is currently on the mannequins at most of the Canadian stores.
I was also shocked it was so quick – and a little upset. I ordered when I did to make sure there was lots of time for alterations etc. If I’d known it would be so fast I would have waited 3 weeks until my mom and sister were here and they could have seen me try on the dresses and been there when I ordered – I’m also now paranoid it will go on sale.

@MsGinkgo: same here! I would’ve ordered much later or even possibly gotten it pre-owned but I thought I should order early since it takes so long to come in
thanks ladies! I really thought they made a mistake or something

@bossypants: My first DB VWW dress came in about 3 weeks after it was ordered. They had to reorder after that one came in and it was about 5 weeks.
Learning lesson- after my sister’s wedding- *almost* always @ DB, dresses come in WAY before they are expected. Way before. That said, one of my BMs dresses took a really long time to come in (it was a brand new style)- and the VW sash I ordered for my dress took longer than the dress.

@MsGinkgo: depending on which dress is it is- even if it goes on sale, it won’t be for much. they aren’t going to discount the brand new dresses yet, and right around the time those came out, they discounted all the older ones. so don’t sweat it!!
