    If it were Rose Gold I would say “eh maybe” but I am not a fan of the Yellow/white gold mixing combination.  It looks messy to me.

    If you like it, I say go for it!  I love both looks, although it probably depends on how much of each metal is showing.  My first set of wedding rings were mismatched and I loved it.  However, this second time around, I’m matching metals.

    I voted for white engagement ring with yellow gold wedding band because:

    1. It is different than what is “in” today – most people either choose super-matchy, made-to-fit, or (like the previous commenter suggested) rose gold with white gold…why not be different? Also;

    2. That is what I will be doing. Who cares if someone else thinks it’s tacky or what have you? It’s your finger.

    Most importantly…do what YOU want to do. Try both options out, if you can, or order a cheaper silver band to try out the look if the idea is cost-prohibitive.

    bonbonsparklesMD:  I love the mismatched look. I think it’s fun and a little bit funky but without being too over the top. I ended up matching my set because that is what Darling Husband prefers — although I’ll still probably mix it up a bit when he’s not looking (ha, ha!).

    It also depends on your personality. Do you love the look of mismatched metals on your own hand? Do you like to mix and match your metals when you wear other jewelry? Will you feel OK with your set possibly getting more attention because of the mis-match than it would if all the metals match?

    In the end, it’s your set and your hand. So whatever you decide works best for you and your spouse will be perfect — and perfectly beautiful!
