I have 14k white gold. I’ve had it for almost a year and it had a bunch of scratches, but no chips. I just recently had it redipped so it’s like new again though. It was part of my warrenty otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered. I don’t mind the worn look. I think it’s just a soft metal so it needs some upkeep.

@mylittleviolett:  Mine has very minor scratches that I can only see when I look at it very closely under good lighting. You might try getting it dipped. I got another ring dipped after having it for two years and it made it look brand new.

I have white gold as well, and yes there are a few scratches, but no chips.

Mine is about 2 years old. I’ve noticed some scratches too. It doesn’t bother me too much, but the only part of my ring where the metal is completely exposed is underneath, so that may be why. If you don’t like the platinum color, I’d stick with the white gold and just get it re-dipped every so often 🙂

Ya mine has a couple of scratches already and it is only like 2 months old, but I have lifetime warranty where it gets re-dipped every six months so it will basically always look like new

mine is way overdue for a redip. i have never redipped it yet and it is totally turning yellowish in some parts. but i am just lazy adn don’t care enough, lol.  plus i really just want to change my setting, so i figure the uglier it gets now, the quicker i will be prompted to do something about changing it.  i have had it for almost 3 years now.

@mylittleviolett:  I honestly think thats going to happen with any ring, regardless of the metal. Its on your hand and unless you never use them there is going to be some minor wear and tear.

Mine looks horrible on the bottom of my hand and is started to even have a bit of a yellow tint. Fiance says he can’t tell but I definitely can. I’ve only been wearing it for 5 months BUT it was his grandmother’s ring and I doubt he had it redipped before he gave it to me.

Here are before and after pictures of a ring I got dipped. The one on the left is the one that got dipped, the one on the right is just there to make it easier to compare from one picture to the next.ETA: I’m getting my ering dipped next week and will let you know if all of the scratches get filled in (My ering is on the right in both of the pictures, but they were taken a few months ago).
