I love rose gold but wanted to go the classic route for my e ring, so I decided on platinum. Almost all my other jewelry is rose gold or yellow gold but I refused to make my e ring in either because 1. I want it classic 2. I want it bright 3. I don’t want to warm the color of my diamond 4. Platinum is more durable

White gold has never looked the best on my skintone (I’m pale with red hair).  So I told my Fiance I wanted anything BUT white gold lol.  He chose rose gold which I love!  But I would have been just as happy with yellow gold as well.

I have 18kt white gold, but I’m starting to think yellow gold is awesome again! I’m not a fan of the rose with my complexion.

I’ve ALWAYS thought rose gold was amazingly beautiful. I remember complimenting a customers ring a long time ago and thinking it was so beautiful because of the rose gold. It’s different and gives the diamonds (or in my case morganite AND diamonds) a gorgeous glow because of the contrast. I guess if you can’t decide then go with whichever one looks better against your skin tone.

I have a white gold solitaire engagement ring and a rose gold wrap with diamonds halfway around, milgrain, and filigree on the sides. I LOVE my ring set!! I had them soldered together.

youmaysayimadreamer :  I’ve always loved rose gold but wanted to incorporate white gold too. My set is both. I think your ring would look great in rose with a white wedding band or two!

Well I know myself pretty well. I know I’m flaky and my likes change often over time.  I got a rose gold moissanite and am in love with it. I think rose gold is romantic and feminine. But I also got this ring with other rings in mind..lol. I’m not very sentimental about what ring I wear as long as I like it. I know down the road I want a different shape ring (I mean I got a round..lol one day mamma wants a pear,. .or oval and darn I also want an emerald cut) I figure when I get bored of this I’ll just get another and eventually I’ll rotate back to this one.

I adore rose gold, but it’s a VERY late-2010s color and it won’t age as well as white gold. (It’s the Millennial pink of metals, after all). Plus, the rest of my jewelry is either yellow gold or silver/white gold and I wanted my e-ring to match. But as PPs have pointed out, you can always change when you get it re-dipped in the future, so get what YOU love.

I really wanted rose gold at first, but then when SO and I talked to the jeweler, I was surpised because they brought up some questions that made me change my mind. Even though I was set on it and I really do love how it looks, we settled on Platinum because of the durability and because i’m really rough on my hands (gardening, I have horses, I have pets, I’m generally very clumsy 😀 ). So, practicality went above how much I loved the coloring. If I get other jewelery, or RHR, I will get my rose gold, but for an e-ring I went with platinum.

Try both on in person! For some people, RG looks amazing with their skin tone and others don’t like the look.

I like platinum for  its color/heft/durability.  My diamond engagement ring is platinum, dia wedding band is 18k rose gold (my avatar).  My rose gold band is subtly pink, which I prefer.  If I were going for an all gold set,  I would get 18k *natural* colored gold ie *yellow* gold as the other colors of gold are not natural/ as classic….

PrincessPeach13 :  White gold isn’t just yellow gold dipped in rhodium. It’s a different alloy of metals that makes it whiter than yellow gold (invented to be a cheaper alternative to platinum), but since it’s not perfectly white like platinum, they dip it in rhodium (which is in the platinum family) to give it a brighter white shine. If you want to keep the really bright white look, you need to get white gold redipped in rhodium, but if the rhodium finish wears off, it’s still a very different color than yellow gold. If you dipped a rose gold ring in rhodium, I imagine you’d have to get it redipped quite frequently to avoid a 2-tone effect as the plating wore off.

I have a white gold engagement ring and decided on a rose gold wedding band. Best of both worlds!

youmaysayimadreamer :  I like all the gold colors so I didn’t choose a color, when we found the engagement ring that I love it was white gold, so I got my wedding band in rose gold and one day when I get an anniversary ring I will get that in yellow gold, then I’ll have all 3 colors.

I loveeee rose gold, mine is 18k and I love the richness of it. I don’t wear a lot of jewelery so I didn’t have to worry about matching. I also like the way it looks on my cinnamon colored skin 😊
