Your rings are beautiful!  Thanks for the before and after pics, I’m planning on having my set dipped when I get the band so that they match since I’ll have been wearing my e-ring for a year by then.

I love that you posted this! I’ve always wondered what a difference re-dipping makes, because I’d never heard of it before joining WB.

And this may be a moronic question, but is re-dipping just exactly like it sounds? They just dip it in rhodium and that’s it? I thought I read somewhere that they take the stones out to re-dip and that worries me cause I have like a gajillion stones on my ring (okay, perhaps I’m exaggerating 😉 ). If someone knows, please tell me how it works!

A friend of mine got hers redipped, and there’s barely any metal showing as it is! It’s all pave, so it would be ridiculous to imagine they tried to take out hundrds of stones. I’m afraid I don’t know the details of replating!

No, they don’t take the stones out.  Rhodium doesn’t adhere to stones.

I really love unplated white gold, it’s like a happy medium for me between yellow and white.  I’m definitely in the minority though!

@asscherlover:  Wow awesome reference pics! I’m gonna get mine re-dipped before the wedding so it’s nice and shiny!

I got mine re-dipped for the first time last week (worn my e-ring for a little over a year and wedding band for about six months) and I didn’t realize how yellow-y they were until I got them dipped. They look brand new again! It got rid of some scrathces and all of the yellow hue…. however, I never take mine off so they were probably a little worse than most people’s. Definitely a fan of the re-dipping now though!

@taylor.ashleys:  How long did your jeweler take to do it? I’m scared I have to leave it at the store. 🙁
