Has anyone had or seen a Maid/Matron of Honor or other BMs in white dresses? My BFF is getting married next month and her colors are peach, gold and white. The other BMs (6 of them) are doing mismatched dresse, they’re all wearing any dress in peach. My friend has decided I should wear white. My dress is a short, lace, white dress. Her wedding dress is also white with a lace overlay, but long of course. No one will confuse me for the bride, but some of the other BMs have kind of given the wtf reaction when they found out I was to be in white and I don’t want everyone having that reaction! So I’d love to see some pics.
Also, we were thinking of accessorizing the dress with a peach ribbon or belt or something? What do you bees think about this? Any better ideas or thoughts of where I could find something nice (for cheap)? I will be wearing brown cowboy boots with the dress along with the rest of the BMs.

I was a little unsure until you mentioned the cowboy boots and a peach belt- I think that’s fabulous! maybe a peach statement necklace or flower in thr hair to make it more colorful? but I approve! If it was more of a gown dress, I would feel weird

@carolinabelle: I think it is a little odd to be in white, but it is a good idea for the cowboy boots and adding a splash of color in with a belt or something. Could you even do the dress in a cream or ivory color?

Kate Middleton had her sister/MOH in white and it looked great. I think as long as the dresses aren’t similar, it can work.

I agree! As long as the dresses are not identical, and your outfit is more closely uniform to the bridesmaids.. (the cowboy boots, the peach sash, maybe your hair is styled similar, etc).. then I see nothing wrong with it!
It is usually really obvious who the bride is, I’m honestly surprised that anyone would be confused! Even if you are in a white dress, I’m pretty sure everyone will know who the bride is!
Besides, you’re the Maid/Matron of Honor, your title is a little bit different then Bridesmaid or Best Man.
🙂 good luck!

@JanglesTheFairy: Thanks for the pictures, I’m going to show them to my friend to reassure her . I mean, it was her idea and she loves it, but she’s gotten some flack for it and I want to make her see how it could work out. I’m willing to go along with anything obviously, but y’all are making me hopeful that it could work!
@lizzypoo96 I really like the idea of a statement necklace in peach or maybe gold with peach/pink colors, I’ll start looking now! Thanks!
@julies1949 thanks for all the suggestions! I actually already have the dress I’ll be wearing. It’s a few inches above the knee, cap sleeve, white lace in a flower pattern. Very cute dress, I just want to make sure I blend in with the other BMs well enough. Thanks!

The short lace dress, boots and peach ribbon sounds like an adorable outfit. The peach ribbon will give you something in common with the other BMs but the white dress will set you apart as the Maid/Matron of Honor.
Where I’m from, having the bridesmaids in coloured dresses is a relatively new phenomenon. At all the weddings I attended as a child, the entire bridal party would always be in white. I was a bridesmaid a few years ago and we all wore white dresses with blue ribbons. It looked great! 🙂
