Are you wearing a white or ivory dress and why? I always thought I wanted white but one of the consultants told me I should consider ivory as it looked good on me as well as it goes better with the warmer colors I have chosen (soft pink and latte) Now I can’t decide!

Mine is a light ivory, I also thought it looked better on then the white. Ivory can be a softer color I think where some whites are very stark.

I think it depends on your skin tone. I knew nothing about wedding dresses when I started looking 8 months ago – I was surprised to learn that most dresses in the store were actually ivory, not white, because it was more popular. Live and learn, kids.

@vicozzie: I always thought I would want to have a white wedding dress, but after having tried both colors on, I found I liked ivory on me much much better! Not to mention, there really isn’t THAT much of a difference in color. lol

“diamond white” technially white, totally ivory hahaha

I chose ivory because white completely washed me out because I have such fair, pale skin.

Ivory looks awesome on my light skin 🙂

I will be wearing white, and I have extremely light skin. The white actually makes my skin look darker.

I’m wearing ivory. Looks great with my medium tone complexion, and ivory photographs very well.

I’m wearing white… we we’re originally going with an all white wedding party so even a light ivory would’ve stood out. lol

i don’t have a dress yet but I have no preference because I tried on both colors and in my opinion neither of them looked better on me lol

I got an ivory dress because that’s the only color it came in. I like both and can get away with either color so it came down to the dress.

Ivory. I’ve heard from a couple people that plain white tends to not come out so well in photographs. It tends to give off more of a bluish tone.

I was going to get a light ivory but my mother FREAKED! she went on and on about “what would people think?! why aren’t you wearing white?! it looks old and yellow” Anyway, I ended up caving and got white.

I always thought I wanted white, until I actually was getting married and I learned that ivory essentially is white, only it seems to look better on a lot of people. Actual white is REALLY bright. Almost everyone I talked to that I know who has recently married wore ivory, but at their weddings, I thought it was white. Champagne can look more yellow and “antique.”
After I learned more about weddings and dresses, I went with ivory and have no regrets.
