I brought some color swatches home and can’t decide between white or ivory for my dress color. Which swatch do you think looks better against my skin tone? Some pictures are without flash and the shiny ones are with flash (I wish they weren’t so shiny!).

springbee09: I think that I prefer the white on you, but I feel like you will really get a better feel for what color you like when you try dresss on.

I think the white looks great on you!

I think the white looks slightly better too, but yeah you should go and try some dresses in both shades to get a better idea!

A swatch will never give you enough of a picture – I’d definitely try on your chosen dress style and see what looks best. Every designers colour tones are slightly dfferent also… not all whites/ivory’s are created equally 🙂

Try the dresses on, then you’ll know which color is better for you.
White was a no go for me, and ivory was a little bit better. However, I also really liked a couple of the shampagne colored dresses I tried on with my complexion… but in the end went with ivory (although it looks white).

It looks like the flash was used on the ivory shots.
Can you do them all with the same lighting?

Thank you all for the input! You are probably right about just trying on the different colors, but a lot of dresses are only stocked in one color at the store to try on. I can probably still get an idea any way. Thanks again!

TheMrsTulip: Each picture has one ivory swatch and one white side by side. In the bottom ones, the small swath is ivory and the larger swatch is white.
