We are having a July tented wedding and reception with 100 of our closest friends and family in my grandfather’s backyard in Kentucky.
It’s kind of a garden elegance, I guess you’d say. Blush and cream garden roses and gold glitter vases and votive holders. What would look best?? White or ivory?? I just want it to be very soft and pretty. It’ll be an evening ceremony (6 pm following a cocktail hour) and partying into the night after a buffet dinner. Chairs are Fruitwood Folding Chairs.
Oh yea, my dress is “alabaster” as defined by Watters. So it’s white, but not like, blinding white.
Thoughts? Suggestions? I can’t believe I’ve been agonizing over something like this haha.

Definitely ivory — much more elegant. White is very stark. Ivory will look beautiful with everything else you described.

I would use ivory if you have access to one that is not too yellow.

My wedding was outdoors in August. In June I stopped by and finalized a few things, we were sitting outside on their back patio portion of their restaurant. I asked her for WHITE linens because I had done everything else with white paper, white vases etc… We were also going to be under a white tent. She told me that the ivory table cloths in the sun and outside in bright light, look completely white. We were sitting at a table with an ivory table cloth on it and I had not even noticed it wasn’t “white”. We went with their ivory (we would have had to pay more for white cause they would have to rent them) and I never ntoiced at all, And I highly doubt anyone else did.

We’re doing ivory – I agree with @kmb727 it’s not as stark
My dress is called ‘ivory’ although it seems white… though against a white table cloth maybe it would look dingy

Thank you! I think i’ll go with the ivory for sure.
